Community-based rehabilitation

Home-based care

Definition

A strategy within community development for the rehabilitation, equalization of opportunities, and social integration of all people with disabilities.

Any form of care given to ill people in their homes, including physical, psychological, palliative and spiritual activities.

 

Implemented through the combined efforts of disabled people themselves, their families and communities, and the appropriate health, education, vocational and social services [82].

The goal is to provide hope through high-quality and appropriate care that helps ill people and families maintain their independence and achieve the best possible quality of life [8].
